Slouchy Hat Crochet Pattern

I wanted a slouchy hat that fitted me so I started one :) I have tried other yarns with this pattern but I have found that Lily's Sugar n Cream or Peaches & Cream work the best for this pattern.

I loved the striped look. I worked in only the back loops for this one to add extra texture. During the sc. I would try to crochet a little less tight (I crochet a little tight). Always check your gauge.

I have revised this pattern for a little more room around the noggin. Check it out HERE if yours feels tight as well :) Thank you for reading.

Supplies:
● Size J crochet hook

  4. question: i followed the entire pattern and instead of the hat getting long and droopy it turned out like a bowl...the opening for the head was way too big not sure what i did wrong?

  5. Hi I am going to try your pattern, and am looking forward to it. However, as I was reading your abbreviations I noticed you said to use a size J hook. I do not understand this as I size by number or decimal 5 or 5.5, can you help me?

    1. Crochet-flirt,

      A J hook is a size 10 or 6MM. Hope this helps.

  6. I would love a DK pattern for this kind of hat. All over the net is thicker yarn.
